| When
you buy insurance for your car, remember to protect yourself. |
| |
| You must buy liability insurance to
pay the other driver if you are at fault. But there are other coverages that are optional. You
should buy full tort coverage, not limited tort. When the other driver is at fault, limited tort limits
your right to recover your damages. If you have limited tort, you can only recover
your actual economic damages, not pain and suffering for the injury. |
| |
| Many other drivers have
no insurance or the minimum coverage required by law. This may not be enough to protect you when the other person is at fault.
You should also buy uninsured and underinsured coverage. This protects
you if the other driver does not have enough insurance to pay for your damages.

You need to have full tort and uninsured and underinsured coverage to be fully protect in the case of an accident.
